DNR Boater Safety Course

Resident Annual Permits**

• Personal Watercraft: $180.00
• All Boats with Motors Under 10 HP, including Row Boats and Sail Boats: $62.00
• All Boats with Motors 10 HP and Over: $91.00
• Annual Ballast Boat (resident): $391.00

Non-Resident Annual Permits

• Personal Watercraft: $266.00 
  
• All Boats with Motors Under 10 HP, including Row Boats and Sail Boats:  $140.00
  
• All Boats with Motors 10 HP and Over:  $180.00
• Annual Ballast Boat (non-resident): $480.00 
  
• Annual Boat Ramp Launch: $42.00 (included in above pricing)

The LLCD requires a fee for the boat and for use of the ramp.  If you are trailering in and out for the season, an annual ramp permit is required.

Daily Permits

• Personal Watercraft:  $34.00 
• All Boats with Motors Under 10 HP, including Row Boats and Sail Boats: $20.00
• All Boats with Motors 10 HP and Over: $24.00
• Daily Ballast Boat: $54.00
• Boat Ramp Launch: $8.00 (included in above pricing)

The LLCD requires a fee for the boat and for use of the ramp.  If you are trailering in and out daily, a ramp fee is required.

Commercial Fishing Guide Annual Permits

• Annual Boat Permit: $500.00
• Annual Boat Ramp Launch: $42.00

**Canoes, paddleboats, and kayaks are excluded from Boat Permit Fees but are required to pay launch fees if ramp is used.

***Lake residents are defined as:

1. Private property owners (freeholders) within the Conservancy District boundaries.
2. City of Bloomington Utilities (CBU) water company customers, if a copy of CBU water bill is provided at time of annual boat permit purchase.
3. Commercial marinas, boat and yacht club wet boat slip and dry storage renters and members.

2026 Annual permits are valid from March 2026 to March 31st, 2027.

2026 Annual permits will go on sale March 20, 2026.

Purchases of Daily and Annual Boat passes are non-refundable transactions, without exception.
